Brindisa‘s company name comes from the word ‘brindis’, to raise one’s glass in a toast, and their work over the past 29 years has been to toast and celebrate the varied cultures, landscapes and, above all the exceptional foods of Spain.
In essence, the business is a tribute to the people who create the remarkable cheeses, hams, meats, fish, and a huge selection of other ingredients that are now enjoyed in the UK.
The green fields of Galicia, in the far north-west of Spain, are known for the quality of their pastures from which come some of Spain’s best-known cows’ milk cheeses including Tetilla, the region’s most iconic cheese.
Made using pasteurised milk, this cheese has a lightly acidic and buttery aroma, a dense smooth, semi-soft paste, and a good balance of lactic and creamy flavours. It is particularly good when used in cooking.
Alemany lavender honey is harvested in summer in Castile La Mancha and Aragon. It has a light amber colour and an intense floral aroma with a sweet and gently herbal flavour with a touch of acidity.
It is a very good honey to use in desserts and can be used to make a great ice cream.
